The End Piece

While I was at the lumber mill last week I came across this super-cool piece of willowy acacia in the "odds & ends" section.  
 
It's the "heel" of a giant tree they had cut down into planks... I knew immediately I had to have it !
 
The wood is mounted to the MDF back with 5/8" lag screws and heavy-duty construction adhesive... thing weighs 33 pounds!
 
This one is my favorite piece yet because it's just so different.  :)
